CALL FOR PAPERS.

The Twenty-fifth annual conference of the Irish Economic Association will be held from 14th to 16th April 2011 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ennis Road, Limerick. The Association invites submissions of papers to be considered for inclusion in the conference programme. Papers may be on any subject in Economics, Finance and Econometrics.

Paper Submission Procedure: Please submit a complete paper, or a substantially complete draft, to: John Sheehan, Secretary, Irish Economic Association, School of Economics, University College Dublin, Dublin 4 (e-mail: john.sheehan@ucd.ie). Preference will be given to fully-completed submissions.

Papers should be submitted in electronic form only, e-mail attachment in either pdf or Word format. A separate abstract attachment (50 to 150 words plus J.E.L. classification) should accompany each submission. The deadline for submissions is Friday, 14th January 2011. A decision will be communicated by end-February 2011 following completion of the work of the Conference Programme Committee (further details will be posted on the IEA Website). The IEA Council will act as a Programme Committee, and may co-opt additional members to assist it.

The Programme Committee hopes to choose one or two special themed sessions for the programme. Proposers should provide an outline of the proposed session: papers, authors, etc.

The IEA wishes to encourage researchers commencing their careers. The Programme Committee will award a prize of .500 for the best paper by an author-presenter who is either (a) aged < 30 or (b) within 3 years of finishing a PhD. There will also be limited support for up to 5 graduate-student presenters, not in receipt of a full salary. Please indicate your wish to be considered for an award when submitting a paper.

There will be two Plenary Sessions featuring guest lecturers (details later):

The Edgeworth Lecture (Sponsored by the Central Bank of Ireland)
The DEW/ESR Lecture
Hotel booking and other local conference arrangements are being organised with the co-operation of the Central Bank of Ireland. Information on conference accommodation and prices as well as conference booking forms will be available from mid-January 2011 on the IEA Website. Please note that intending contributors will need to return a booking form together with a conference registration fee (unless by specific agreement with overseas contributors) before their place on the programme can be secured.

Note: Paper submission deadline: Friday 14th January, 2011.
