Was great to see Rory Kinnear playing Keynes in "The Standard of Living" the other night. Was an act of huge bravery from the writers and director to represent the economics on stage at different points including at least some equations. You could see at least some of the economists in the audience straining not to put their hand up to offer "more of a comment than a question" during the expositions of the theories. Quite a lot of LSE context including Hayek and Beveridge. The Bloomsbury set more generally is represented well on the stage, reflected in an audience that looked like a curious mix of general theatre goers, arts people and economists. I enjoyed the play a lot including arguing with my friend afterwards about how the economics parts were represented. Looks like it is going to have a very good run.
