Development of Irish Well-Being Framework

I recently joined the advisory group for the development of the new Irish Well-being Framework. I will use this post to add some interesting links as the process develops. This is quite an exciting development nationally and will be of interest to people across the world who are integrating well-being research into public policy.

The Government is committed to developing a comprehensive well-being framework.  The Department of the Taoiseach is leading this work, which is jointly sponsored by the Departments of Finance and Public Expenditure and Reform.

The National Economic and Social Council will provide a vehicle for consultation with stakeholders, both through members of the Council representing different social partnership pillars, as well as external experts and interested parties.  The Council has formed a Stakeholder and Expert Group which will support this work.

A report will be produced based on engagements and consultation and this report will be included in the initial output from the Inter-departmental Working Group which goes to Government in summer 2021.
