The extent of the fabrication of data by Dutch social psychologist Diederick Stapel is becoming more apparent (
see article here). The investigation in Tilburg University unravelled the extent to which he simply made up data-sets, telling his co-authors they had been collected in various schools or universities or that they had been collected for another project. The extent of the scientific fraud affects "many dozens" of his papers, many of which are in top journals. Very sad reading.
