NBER Papers

Two of this weeks NBER papers used random characteristic assignment experiments to examine discrimination.

The first, Canadian, paper is an audit study, a well worn method involving sending out bogus applications like the recent ESRI study. This one involved sending out thousands of such applications and hence wasting the time of many people presumably without their consent and without debriefing I imagine. For that reason, it is like all such studies unethical in my opinion.
